Hand

The classic, and a perfect way to get into the world of spanking, you’ve got all the equipment you need! Great for fans of skin to skin contact, and it allows you to be fully aware of the amount of force you’re exerting. The hand is also a good warm up before you move onto heavier toys during a session, and will leave the ass a subtle red colour with minimal bruising.

TOP TIP: Curving your hand creates a louder noise, and keeping your hand flat gives a harder sting.

Paddle

The general rule with spankers is, the smaller the surface area, the higher the pain level. Paddles are the largest of spanking toys, and depending on the material, can get a great result. Many of our paddles have a fluffy side, perfect for comforting your partner and getting them ready for the next blow. Paddles and straps give a brighter red flush to the impact area and a slightly stronger chance of bruising.

TOP TIP: Want some extra sting? Go for a paddle with a studded design on it.

Flogger

A flogger is comprised of many tails attached to a handle, and the impact type can range from a light sting to a heavier thud, depending on the weight and material of the instrument. The longer the tails, the more purchase and momentum you will be able to get with each hit, and the harder the blows can get. Floggers are great for hitting other areas of the body too, such as the chest or shoulder blades, and leave varied markings due to the variety of ways you can use it.

TOP TIP: For more chance of defined marking and bruising, use a flogger with tightly woven or knotted tails.

Crop

Crops are exactly like those used in horse racing – long with a small, usually stiff leather, end piece. It is the leather part that is intended for impact, and as it has a small surface area, causes fairly high pain. It is also more likely that you will get a bruise from a crop, as all the impact is concentrated.

TOP TIP: For a less concentrated impact, use a crop with a tailed end.

Cane

The cane, used for years to implement punishment, and they definitely achieve the desired result when it comes to that! Long, hard, and thin, there’s no budging – creating raised welts which leave a lasting result, and can even break the skin (ALWAYS keep a first aid kit handy!)

TOP TIP: Canes are great to incorporate into role play, especially that of the Teacher/Student persuasion!

Tawse

Similar to a paddle, but ALOT more intense painwise, a tawse is a thin in width but thick piece of leather which is sometimes split into two near the end. This creates thicker marks than the cane, and will definitely leave some bruises!

TOP TIP: A Tawse goes perfectly with the over the knee spanking position.

Whip

A whip is piece of iconography regarding the BDSM scene. When you think of a Dominatrix, you think of her wielding a long leather bull whip, ready to discipline and dominate all those who come into her path. It takes lots of skill to use this implement, but once you get the knack of it (with lots of practice), this makes for a punishment your sub won’t be forgetting in a hurry.

TOP TIP: Start off with a shorter whip to get the hang of it, then go up to a longer one if it takes your fancy.

Now that we’ve gone through all the kinds of tools you have use to deliver a perfect punishment, everything else is up to you, but remember –

  1. ALWAYS agree on a safeword
  2. Start gently and work up to harder hits
  3. NEVER hit the bottom of the back, the spine, or other areas where there is not much muscle or fat.
  4. Keep a first aid kit handy.
  5. Remember that after-care is important!

Now get out there and get spanking!
